Life is trial and error.
The further we get from reality, the harder the crash when we met it again.
The biggest problem is that human culture is a process of passing knowledge down through the generations. Consequently the core of this system was created by those trying to control society when it was fairly primitive and that creates a framework that succeeding generations cannot seriously question, if they want to be taken seriously by the group.
Until it gets so outlandish that it all comes crashing back down.
Points to consider;
Is time the present moving past to future, or is it activity and the resulting change turning future to past? As in tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns.
We are these mobile organisms, so this sentient interface our body has with its situation functions as a sequence of perceptions, in order to navigate, so our experience is the former and thousands of years of narrative story telling re-enforce it, so everyone agrees.
Would a spiritual absolute be the essence of sentience, from which we rise, or an ideal of wisdom and judgement, from which we fell?
Obviously the old wise men know it's the old wise man in the sky, not these pesky little ones running underfoot.
Unfortunately ideals are not absolutes and assuming so gives the crazies the power.
Is money a social contract, enabling exchange, or is it a commodity to mine from society?
Obviously those with the most know it's to be collected, so they must know what it is.
We are linear goal oriented creatures in a cyclical, circular, reciprocal, feedback generated reality and just don't have the sense to instill circuit breakers in the feedback loops, before they melt the wires and break all the furniture.
