Logically we experience time linearly, because we are mobile beings. Plants don’t need this sequential perception, because they don’t have to navigate their environment.

So we experience time as the point of the present, going from past to future events and even physics models it as a dimension, measured as duration.

The reality is that change turns future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns. Potential, actual, residual. Duration is this physical state, as events form and dissolve.

There is no physical dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, in order to inform and drive it. Aka, causality and conservation of energy.

Being “conserved,” energy is always and only present. In fact, being dynamic and constantly changing, it is creating time, along with temperature, pressure, color, etc. Think frequencies and amplitudes.

The energy, as process, goes past to future forms, as the patterns generated go future to past. Frequency and amplitude are the form of the wave, rising and falling, not the energy driving it.

Consciousness goes past to future, while thoughts and feelings go future to past.

Lives go birth to death, while life goes onto the next generation, shedding the old.

In a factory, the product goes start to finish, while the production line goes the other way, consuming material and expelling product.

So there is this dichotomy between energy and the forms it manifests, going opposite directions of time.

Galaxies are energy radiating out, as form coalesces in. This coalescing form is referred to as gravity and mass, but there appears to be a lot more gravity than apparent mass. Which might raise the question of whether we have that backwards. That mass is an effect of part of this spectrum of coalescing form, rather than gravity a property of mass.?

As biological organisms, we have the digestive, respiratory and circulatory systems, processing the energy driving us on, while the central nervous system sorts through and further condenses the forms/information precipitating out. Signal from the noise.

Given that both consciousness and energy go past to future, it seems interesting how we tend to associate the heart and the gut with the elements of emotion and instinct.

So it’s the heart versus the head. The emotions bubbling up, cresting and forming as thoughts, while the head, reason and logic, have to sort through these myriad desires and impulses, deciding which to pursue and which to deter, further distilling them. The anarchy of desire, versus the tyranny of judgement.

Energy radiating out, as form coalesces in. Cosmic convection cycles.

So no, it’s not linear, but feedback loops permeating everything.

Time is like a tapestry, being woven of strands pulled from what was woven.

What limits us, defines us. We seek the ideal, but when we find what we think we are looking for, we need to transcend it. We want our cake and eat it too.

The energy creates form and breaks it down.

Fluctuating between the absolute, where everything cancels out, and the infinite, where everything fades out. As with galaxies, where the light radiates toward infinity, while form coalesces toward that eye of the storm in the middle.
