Lol.

Desire and judgement. The head and the heart. That bubbling essence seeking connections versus the need to control and direct it. Motor and steering.

The irony, in our supposedly modern and enlightened age, is that we are so blind to this tension.

I blame it on the perniciousness of monotheism. God might be dead, but we still live in its shadow, searching for the ideal form.

A spiritual absolute would necessarily be that essence of sentience, from which we rise, not an ideal of wisdom and knowledge, from which we fell.

Which functions as appetite, seeking pleasure, power, curiosity, knowledge, etc. The desire, more so then the objects of desire.

Instead we have this top down father figure lawgiver and his Ten Commandments, to instill respect for the authority of custom. While those disillusioned with the ideal seek other, more material objects of desire.

People are goal oriented, but nature is cyclical and reciprocal.
