Ask yourself, would a spiritual absolute be an ideal of wisdom and judgement, from which we fell, or the essence of sentience, from which we rise?

Ideals are not absolutes and any culture founded on this principle has problems. It's all against all, as we can't see ourselves as unique expressions of time and place, but as messengers of the One True Belief. Whether it's religion, politics, culture, or even sex.

Good and bad are not some cosmic duel, between the forces of righteousness and evil, but the basic biological binary of beneficial and detrimental. The 1/0 of sentience. Even bacteria get that.

Any society that ever existed with have those enforcing convention and those pushing the boundaries. Heck, even galaxies are energy radiating out, as structure coalesces in. When we break it down to tribal feuds, there is no solution.

So good luck getting people to actually go along with the idea.
