Markets need money as a medium to circulate. Capitalism is treating money as the signal to extract from the noise of society and the economy. Which then requires ever more to be added and ever more inventive ways to maintain and store what is saved.

Keep in mind that blood is a medium, while fat is a store. They serve different functions, but economics assumes that money can be both. The result is a metastatic financial sector that is destroying the economy and society.
