Maybe a big part of the problem is there is no clear enunciation of government and its function.

Basically government is the nervous system of the body politic, the executive and regulatory function.

Its role is to referee all the various factions of society, relative to resources.

Much as the individual mind has to referee all the various needs, desires, abilities and possibilities of the individual.

Too weak a leadership and various of the factions take over. Historically these would be oligarchs, financial cartels and other centers of power. Often breaking down the state.

Today it is those, as well as an entrenched bureaucracy and various social movements, much as our own metabolic processes and bodily functions affect our decision making.

Obviously too strong a leadership has issues as well. Largely that they will favor some factions over others, to the detriment of the larger society. Much as someone with a strong personality can be useful in many ways, but also tends to lose sight of longer term goals in having to constantly assert their own authority.

There are many other aspects to this social, political and cultural biology and physics, such that money and banking serve as a form of blood and circulation system for the communal body and can be very detrimental when monopolized. As it is today, when much of the rest of society are tenant farmers to the banks.

So simply bonding into a our little echo chambers does overlook the larger picture.
