We are linear, goal oriented creatures in a cyclical, reciprocal, feedback driven reality and happiness is more about pacing oneself, than reaching the pot of gold at the end of the narrative arc.

The journey, not the destination. Time isn't the point of the present, moving past to future, it's change, turning future to past. We are mobile organisms, so our primary experience is a sequence of perceptions, in order to navigate, but yesterday didn't cause today, the sun shining on a spinning planet creates this cycle of days and nights.
