Nature is a bottom up process, that we try to frame in terms of top down patterns.

Good and bad are not some cosmic conflict between righteousness and evil, but the basic biological binary of beneficial and detrimental. The 1/0 of sentience.

When we try to frame them as ideals, all the higher order complexity, nuance and subjectivity is suspect, in the race to the bottom, of us versus them.

We are linear, goal oriented creatures in a cyclical, circular, feedback generated reality, so while we are always on the hunt for the pot of gold at the end of the narrative arc, it's more a matter of what goes round, eventually comes round. More rock, paper, scissors, than winner take all.

In nature, predators take what they need, not all they can. We have little ability to moderate our impulses, so we quantify and monetize them.

The anarchy of desire, versus the tyranny of judgement.

The bull is power.

The matador is art.
