One consequence is the tendency to all get on the same wavelength, as herds of larger social super organisms.

The problem is when these feedback loops don't have any circuit breakers, no heresies, paradigm shifts, thinking outside the box, Overton window, etc and it all spirals down that vortex, rabbit hole, echo chamber in the middle.
