One of my favorite Watts comments is; “The wake doesn’t steer the boat, the boat creates the wake.” As a refutation of determinism.

Which goes to a point I try making, that there is no literal “dimension” of time, beyond the narrative, as the past is consumed by the present, in order to inform and drive it. Aka causality and conservation of energy.

So there is no set, physical past to refer to, just feedback loops churning up bits and pieces, as this microsoft ad is doing. That it might cause others to look beyond the superficial reference, like pulling other loose strings, is both a benefit and a fundamental part of the process of destruction/creation, that is time.
