One possible question would be to ask what the "mind" is for.
It would seem that it exists as an interface between the living organism and its context, in order to function within that context.
As mobile beings, aka, fauna, ours function as a sequence of perceptions, in order to navigate. Much as a movie is a sequence of frames of film.
We are no more aware of what 99+% of what our body is doing, than we are of most of the activity going on around us.
Much of our focus tends to be on the things we don't like, scare us, or have some immediate use. Fear and greed.
We pride ourselves in our ability to process information of the world around us, yet given that any hint of rationality is quickly tossed, should it interfere with our tribal affiliations, income stream, emotions, etc. it would seem information processing is largely a survival mechanism, like running or generating toxins.
Logically, a spiritual absolute would be that essence of sentience, from which we rise, not an ideal of wisdom and judgement, from which we fell.
