One thought that keeps crossing my mind is that Iran tried democracy, in 53, but mistakenly voted for the wrong people. Ones who threatened to nationalize their oil industry and cut the Brits out. So the Brits and the CIA informed them what is what and installed the Shah. Who was famous for his secret police, the Savak, but the one area they couldn't quite control, were the mosques. Which is why Iran has a theocracy today.
Then, it seems likely, but lost in the chaos of the Reagan years, the US helped start the Iran Iraq War, to punish Iran, that cost some millions of lives.
After which, Hussein asked if he could take Kawait, to help pay the bills. Whatever undersecretary that picked up the phone basically said, Whatever, not our business. Then Saudi Arabia shrieked, so we had the first Iraq war.
Then the little Bush thought he'd show his daddy just how tough he was, with Dick Cheney whispering in his ear and we had the second Iraq war, effectively handing it over to the Iranians, because, well Mission Accomplished. Raytheon got what it wanted.
The fact is, the military is just the trophy wife of the banks. Making money is all that really matters.
Some might say it's those damn Jewish bankers, but one of my ancestors, Louis McLane Jr, essentially founded Wells Fargo. He had the coaches, Wells and Fargo were the investors. It because evident after the financial crisis of 08, that Wells Fargo is among the most corrupt, so nothing personal, it's all the banks.
If we are going to have a system of public government, there has to be an equally accountable system of public banking.
Otherwise it is just endless chaos, where the oligarchs suck society dry. The only job the prostitutes allowed in office have, is creating the public debt necessary for the financial sector to grow metastatically.
That they go play cowboys and indians on the other side of the planet, with those playtoys, while the country falls apart, is a side effect.
