Or another way to look at it, the present is what gives meaning to the past and future. I wouldn’t quite say they are immutable, because they are both fuzzy, for all practical purposes.

We like to obsess and focus on the details, but often it’s like a flashlight on a moonlit night. While it clarifies specifics, it blinds us to much else.

Such as with time, the present seems like a dimensionless point between past and future, as much of what is occurring is doing so at the speed of light, but the light doesn’t care about time. So being in the present is to ride the light, in all its waves and whirls. Occasionally floating through the perceptual lenses of others thoughts. We are not so much the images on the screen, but the light shining through.
