I am suspecting that you are fairly young, where everything is still clear and sharp and obvious.

As you get older though, you will find the knowledge of experience is not so much learning lots of new things, but seeing the same things from every possible angle and on deeper and deeper levels, so that it is no longer more than just a fleeting blurr of being and trying to hold onto all those things that seemed so clear and obvious become a fleeting dream, even if many of them were nightmares.

Woke is still dreaming, as much as dreaming seems awake.

Pointing fingers at evil doesn’t make it go away. The fact is that without the ups and downs, it would be a flatline.

When we insist on only going up, that the downs get that much more precipitous. Does it occur to you that the gulag was for those who were not “woke,” in terms of communist orthodoxy?
