Our thought process is fundamentally reductionist. The problem seems to be, what criteria we apply to deciding what is signal and what is noise. Right now, the bottom line pretty much rules, even for those who fervently wish otherwise. Mammon is the final god.

Much of our techno scientific progress has been driven by cashing in and and much more of the ancillary spinoffs.

Then when that is linear and goal driven, the emphasis is simply on quantity of accumulation, over the quality of what we do with it. There is no regard for what happens next, aka, the feedback.

A big part of the confusion, as I see it, is the belief that money is a commodity we personally own, rather than an accounting device and social contract with the whole of society.

A medium, like roads are a medium.
