Our thought process is that tension between reductionism and contextualization. Nodes and networks.
Reductionism points toward the absolute, where everything balances out, positive and negative. The flatline between the ups and the downs.
Contextualization points toward the infinite, the never ending process, where any such details ultimately fade into a flatline.
We fluctuate somewhere in the middle.
Consider this; Is time the point of the present, moving past to future, or is it change, turning future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns? If it is the second, then time is an effect, like temperature, pressure, color, etc.
There is no dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, in order to inform it. Causality and conservation of energy.
We are just little mobile organisms, experiencing reality as flashes of perception, as a function of navigation. Then we narrate our journeys and build civilizations out of the collected knowledge.
Of course, we still see the sun rising in the east and setting in the west.
