Part of the problem is the two most basic dynamics are synchronization and harmonization. One centripetal and the other centrifugal.

Organisms, as well as communities, necessarily tend to synchronize their actions, while ecosystems and neworks tend to harmonize outward.

So while humanists are individually humble, after awhile the postive feedback of being alert and aware of larger realities coalesces into an negative feedback of aversion to overcoming the obstacles and we spiral into an opposite situation, where we obsess over the insecurities, rather than using them to grow further.

What our linear, goal oriented human perspective has to realize, is the larger reality is one of contrast, tension and opposites and when we march off in only one direction, the effect is that much more blowback.

The world is round, not flat.
