It seems to me the point being overlooked is that “description” is inherently static, be it waves, particles, math, words, pictures, etc. We cannot mentally grasp something that is fundamentally dynamic. It’s just not how our brain functions. It would be like leaving the shutter on a camera open. All the definition would be washed out and lost.

Think of a wave and what you most likely conceive is some form of frequency and amplitude. That waviness on the surface, yet what drives it? The “energy?” How do we grasp that, if not by the forms it inhabits?

Yet these forms seem like a balloon, where if you push in one way, that push out other ways.

As I may have observed previously, we view time narratively, as the point of the present, moving past to future, but the evident physical cause is that change turns future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns.

So this property called energy is “conserved,” which means it is always and only present. Being dynamic, it is also constantly changing form. Which really is the basis of time and why we only experience the present.

So while the energy goes from past to future forms, these forms come and go, future to past.

Think in terms of a wave; The forms, the frequencies and amplitudes, rise and fall, come and go, while the energy is being transmitted by and as these patterns.

Our consciousness goes past to future, while the forms it is expressed as, thoughts and feelings, go future to past.

So here we are, sorting through and picking apart the patterns, wondering what could be the “fire within.”

Remember it is our gut and circulation system processing the energy driving us and our mental processes. Not coincidently we associate the gut and heart with the emotions and desires driving us. They turn form into fuel and circulate it.

So why is it these desires come and go, if they are the energy?

A thought is clear, like a cresting wave, while emotions are fuzzy and indeterminate, like a building wave that hasn’t crested. So the energies driving them are apparent, even if the potential forms are not.

Even galaxies are energy radiating out, while form coalesces in.
