Presumably all our efforts are about creating order out of chaos. Signal from the noise. Yet every bit of information we distill, exists in some infinite network, that reduces to noise, as it approaches infinity.
Might there be another dynamic at work?
Consider the nature of time.
As these mobile life forms, it stands to reason our sequential process of perception developed out of the need to navigate, so our experience of time is as the point of the present, moving past to future. Which physics codifies as measures of duration.
The reality is that change turns future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns. Duration is the present, as the events come and go.
There is no literal dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, to inform and drive it. Causality and conservation of energy. Cause becomes effect.
Energy is "conserved," because it is the present, not some dimensionless point. It creates time, as well as temperature, pressure, color, sound. Frequencies and amplitudes. Time is frequency, events are amplitude.
Ideal gas laws correlate volume with temperature and pressure, but we don't call them dimensions of space, because they are only foundational to our emotions and bodily functions, not the sequence of thought.
So energy, as process, goes past to future, while the patterns generated go future to past. In terms of a wave, the energy drives it, while the fluctuations rise and fall.
Now consciousness goes past to future, while perceptions, emotions and thoughts rise and fall, future to past. Though it is our gut processing the energy, feeding the flame, while the brain sorts the information.
So there is this difference between our sense of being and any form it encounters, creates, synthesizes, etc. The awareness is always both trying to create order and then transcend it. So we are stuck in this cycle, between the anarchies of desire and the tyrannies of judgement.
Even galaxies are energy radiating out, as form coalesces in, so it's doubtful we will find an escape and better just deal with it.
Feedback loops all the way down. We either do it fast and high, or slow and low. The turtle is still plodding along, long after the rabbit has died.
