My point was about how our physiological existence relates to this process.

Sort of like a geocentric cosmology, where we see the cosmos moving east to west, rather than the earth spinning west to east.

Epicycles were brilliant math, as a model of our view of the heavens, while the crystalline spheres were lousy physics, as explanation. Similarly Special and General Relativity is brilliant math, as a model, but spacetime is lousy physics, as explanation.
