Probably wise to stay away from politics, for the time being.

Though I guess much of the rest of the problem is that most people under forty grew up in this torrent of information that is the internet and it forms their sense of reality.

It certainly does have its advantages, but it takes a good sense of balance to retain your footing in it.

Admittedly I have a few subjects I invariably raise, because I think they are worth pointing out and some do find them interesting.

That said, it is the terrain you get, not the one you want.
