Rather than focus on what we strive for, it seems we are to the point of having to step back and figure what drives these desires, as well as how to fulfill them.

Life is a process of choosing among our desires and needs. In reality, the gut decides, the head simply advises. Both wanting to eat the cake now and saving it for later are both desires, of which we have to balance.

At the heart of which is the dynamic of time.

As these mobile organisms, this sentient interface between body and world functions as a sequence of perceptions, in order to navigate, so our experience of time is as the point of the present moving past to future. Though the evident reality is that change is turning future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns.

There is no dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, to inform and drive it. Causality and conservation of energy. Cause becomes effect.

Energy is "conserved," because it manifests this presence, creating time, temperature, pressure, color and sound. Time is frequency, events are amplitude.

So the energy goes past to future, because the patterns it generates coalesce and dissolve, rise and fall, future to past. Energy drives the wave, while the fluctuations rise and fall. No tiny strings necessary.

Consciousness also goes past to future, as the perceptions, emotions and thoughts giving it form and structure go future to past. Though it is the digestive, respiratory and circulatory systems processing the energy and feeding the flame, while the central nervous system sorts the information precipitating out. Signals from the noise. Motor and steering.

So for both good and evil, it is the energy of the consciousness bubbling up where it can, the cracks in the structures confining and defining it.

Galaxies are energy radiating out, as structure coalesces in, so it's not like it's a process we can ignore, so we have to understand it. This feedback between our growing up into a reality determined to define us in its image, as we search for the room to breathe.

Occasionally though, large parts of that structure become unstable and crash, leaving those left behind more room to try different options.

We are linear, goal oriented creatures in a cyclical, circular, reciprocal, feedback generated reality and we are now reaching the edge of the global petri dish. It's time to wake up.
