Religion is spirituality bottled and branded.

The fallacy of monotheism is that a spiritual absolute would be the essence of sentience, from which we rise, not an ideal of wisdom and judgement, from which we fell. More the new born, than the wise old man. Consciousness seeking knowledge, rather than any form of knowledge. The light shining through the film than any image on the film.

The top down father figure lawgiver and his ten commandments served more of a governance issue, in validating authority and judgement over desire.

Reality is that dichotomy of energy bubbling up, while form coalesces in. Look at galaxies, as light radiates out, while mass gravitates in. As fauna, we have the digestive, respiratory and circulatory systems processing the energy driving us on, along with a central nervous system to sort through the information created, in order to navigate and eventually narrate. So we do focus on the cresting of the waves, which gives form, rather than the dynamic driving them.

Consciousness gives rise to the formulation of thought, not the other way around.
