Ricky,

My first wife was a third grade school teacher.

She said it was the best year, because it was the last year where they would really listen. Basically before the hormones and the politics took over.

As they say is science, change happens one funeral at a time.

I certainly would also like to see change happen expeditiously, unfortunately I'm all too familiar with the basic psychology.

People are herd animals, even when they insist otherwise. As millions and billions of us, it's just the way it is.

So it is a question of the group dynamics and finding the most effective leverage points. The ideas and beliefs that motivate sufficient numbers of people.

In the not too distant future, a lot of the boxes, maps, models, religions, ideologies are going to start breaking down and crashing into each other. Lots of effort will be put into putting them back together. It isn't going to work, because the underlaying premises are flawed and much of the social reality is basic factionalism.

So it will keep breaking down, because there isn't any virgin territory to keep spreading out in. The 'Go forth and multiply' paradigm has reached the edge of the petri dish.

So I'm just stepping as far back as possible and reading the form.

Energy and information.

Even galaxies are the energy radiating out, as the structure coalesces in.

It might well take a few generations before it all starts to settle back down again.

Or just keeps crashing through the floors.
