Sometimes we need to step back and look at the bigger picture, not just race ahead to be the one to find the next Big Thing.

Three dimensions are a mapping device, like longitude, latitude and altitude.

The logical parameters of space are infinity and equilibrium. Which is implicit in the frame with the longest ruler and fastest clock being closest to the equilibrium of the vacuum, the unmoving void of absolute zero. So zero to infinity. Everything in between is feedback loops and circuit breakers.

The most common feature of space are the galaxies. Which are an effect of the energy radiating out, toward infinity, while the patterns generated coalesce in, toward equilibrium. Thermodynamics.

As mobile organisms, this sentient interface our body has with its situation functions as a sequence of perceptions, in order to navigate the space. So our experience of time is as the present moving past to future. It is the basis of culture and civilization, as narrative and history.

The evident reality though, is that activity and the resulting change turns future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns.

There is no dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, to inform and drive it. Causality and conservation of energy. Cause becomes effect.

It is a tapestry being woven of strands pulled from what was woven. Potential>actual>residual.

The energy is conserved, because it manifests this presence, creating time, temperature, pressure, color and sound. Frequencies and amplitudes, rates and degrees.

So the energy goes past to future, because the patterns generated come and go, future to past. Energy drives the wave, the fluctuations rise and fall.

Consciousness also goes past to future, while the perceptions, emotions and thoughts giving it form and structure go future to past.

The digestive system processes the energy, feeding the flame, the nervous system sorts the patterns, signals from the noise, with the circulation system as feedback in the middle.

The anarchies of desire, versus the tyrannies of judgement. Gut and head, motor and steering.

Future and past.

The earth is in the middle, between the black hole and the black body radiation. The mental feedback loops want to pull us down those gravitational vortices, obsessions, religions, ideologies, cults and cultures. Requiring the occasional circuit breaker, reality check, to maintain equilibrium.

Without the ups and downs, it would be a flatline.

The price we pay to feel, is that a lot of it is pain.
