Space.

Three dimensions are a mapping device, like longitude, latitude and altitude. If all properties used to measure and define space are removed, it still has the non-physical qualities of infinity and equilibrium.

Infinity because there is nothing to bound it and equilibrium is implicit in General Relativity, as the frame with the fastest clock and longest ruler is closest to the equilibrium of the vacuum. The unmoving void of absolute zero.

So space is the absolute and the infinite.

Time, on the other hand, is an effect and measure of activity. Like temperature, pressure, color, sound. Frequencies and amplitudes.

As mobile organisms, our reality as a sequence of perceptions, which we are constantly sorting and judging, in order to navigate. Then, as humanity, we developed civilization out of the ability to tell stories. So we experience time as the point of the present, moving past to future. Physics codifies it as measures of duration.

The reality is that change turns future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns.

There is no literal dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, to inform and drive it. Causality and conservation of energy. Cause becomes effect.

Energy is "conserved," because it is what manifests as the present. Its changing form is time.

As with a wave, the energy drives it, while the fluctuations rise and fall, come and go.

So the energy, as process, goes past to future, while the patterns generated go future to past.

In a factory, the product goes start to finish, future to past, while the production line goes the other way, consuming material and expelling product. Lives go birth to death, while life moves onto the next generation, shedding the old.

Consciousness goes past to future, while the perceptions, emotions and thoughts it manifests go future to past.

Yet we have the digestive, respiratory and circulatory systems processing the energy driving us, while the central nervous system sorts through the information/forms precipitating out. Suggesting the brain is more lens and filter of consciousness, than source of this spark within.

Galaxies are energy radiating out, as form coalesces in. Both entropic. Cosmic convection cycles.

So reality is more thermodynamic feedback loops, than linear time.
