Structure.

The essence of order is its frame of reference. Otherwise it is noise. Be it gods or codes, society needs that "map." Without which, it becomes a Tower of Babel.

The problem is these structures progress through a lifecycle. The positive feedback, the growth, is when they are respected and valued, thus everyone puts their heart and effort into them. Responsibility is expected. Rights are reward.

The negative feedback, the necrosis, is when everyone is just grabbing their own, including and especially those in positions of power. Then it breaks down and scatters. Rights are asserted. Responsibility is optional.

Our technical evolution has outpaced our social evolution. As money has become the object of focus, the economic medium has become the cultural message.

Leaving the rest of the culture to dissolve back into tribalism as the default mode. The herd.
