That’s the problem with monotheism. Absolute is elemental, not ideal, so a spiritual absolute, the source of consciousness, would be the essence of sentience, from which we rise, not an ideal of wisdom and judgement, from which we fell. Yet it does seek. We are motivated by our desires, more than the objects of them.
Consider galaxies; energy radiating out, as form coalesces in. There is always that tension between the raw element of being and the forms it navigates.
We have the digestive, respiratory and circulatory systems, processing the energy driving us on, along with the central nervous system to sort through the forms and information precipitating out. We are driven by the wave, but our minds just record the amplitude and frequency.
As mobile organisms, we have a sequential thought process in order to navigate and then build civilizations out of the collective narrative, so we are indoctrinated to time as the present flowing past to future, but it is change turning future to past, within this physical state. Potential, actual, residual.
Consider two billiard balls colliding; It creates an event and while this event fades into the past, the balls go onto other events. So the process goes past to future, while the patterns generated go future to past.
That is why the consciousness observes the thoughts defining and giving it form. They go opposite directions of time.
