The basic, logical fallacy of monotheism is that a spiritual absolute would be the essence of sentience, from which we rise, not an ideal of wisdom and judgement, from which we fell. More the light shining through the film, than the images on it. That we tend to focus on the images and ignore the fact of being the light is a consequence of the narrative basis of civilization, where we think the story leads to some conclusion, rather than an organic cycle of expansion and consolidation.
Time is not so much the point of the present, moving past to future, as it is change, turning future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns. The process goes past to future, while the patterns generated go future to past. As consciousness goes past to future, while thoughts go future to past.
