The basic problem is that there are centrifugal and centripetal elements in all societies, but our culture is monist/monotheistic, so there is no sense every coin has two sides. No up without down, good without bad, attraction without repulsion, right without left, conservative without liberal, heck even men without women.

The middle ground is a fluctuation and cycling back and forth, otherwise it would be a flatline.

More yin and yang, than God almighty.
