The catch with entropy is that it's a closed system. In an infinite reality, the energy radiated away from one place would be replaced by energy radiating in from surrounding areas. While the current cosmology has the entire universe as one closed system, they also keep ripping holes in this idea, from multiverses to dark energy.

We are mobile organisms, so our sentience is focused as a sequence of perceptions, in order to navigate, but time is not so much the present moving past to future, this effect generates, as it is change turning future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns.

There is no literal dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present. Causality and conservation of energy. Cause becomes effect.

Energy is conserved, because it is present, so it goes past to future, while the patterns generated go future to past.

Energy drives the wave, while the fluctuations rise and fall.

So energy expands out, toward infinity, while form settles back toward equilibrium.

So which is entropy?

It would seem they both are and we are those thermodynamic feedback loops in the middle.
