One of the most glaring examples of logical malfeasance I find, is in the current cosmological model. Quite simply, if space were to expand, based on the curvature of spacetime, than the speed of the light crossing it should increase, in order to remain Constant! Instead, two metrics are being derived from the speed and spectrum of the same light. Given it is an expanding space and not tired light theory, the speed is still being used as the explicit denominator.
Look up any description and it will say the universe has grown from 22 million lightyears since the end of the inflation stage, to 48 billion today, but it only took 13.8 billion to cross it. What is light speed calibrating, if not space???

And predicted it would find ever further galaxies, but all the debate would be how to shoehorn them into this model. Which is exactly what is happening;
When it comes to science in general and consciousness in particular, the biggest flaw in our reasoning is the issue of time.
As mobile organisms, this sentient interface our body has with its situation functions as a sequence of perceptions, in order to navigate, so our experience of time is the present moving past to future. It is the basis of culture and civilization, as narrative and history. The accumulation of human knowledge is based on this process.
Yet the evident reality is that activity and the resulting change turns future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns.
There is no dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, to inform and drive it. Causality and conservation of energy. Cause BECOMES effect. The energy of the batter swinging the bat is transferred to the ball flying away.
No time traveling around the fabric of spacetime. It is more like a tapestry being woven of strands constantly being pulled from what was woven.
Energy is "conserved," because it manifests this presence, creating time, temperature, pressure, color and sound, as frequencies and amplitudes, rates and degrees.
Different clocks can run at different rates simply because they are separate actions. Think metabolism.
That culture is about synchronizing society as a larger super organism, based on the same languages, rules, measures, it might seem like there should be some universal flow of time, but it's rabbit time and turtle time and the turtle is still plodding along, long after the rabbit has died.
So the energy, as presence, goes past to future, because the patterns generated come and go, future to past.
Energy drives the wave, the fluctuations rise and fall. No tiny strings necessary.
Consciousness also goes past to future, while the perceptions, emotions, thoughts giving it form and structure go future to past. suggesting consciousness manifests as a form of energy.
Though it is the digestive system processing the energy and thus feeding the flame, while the nervous system sorts the patterns, signals from he noise. Hence this intellectual tendency to focus on the patterns over the dynamics driving them. That it's all just digits in some cosmic computer. Overlooking just how much energy those computers run on.
Science tends to have a similar problem with energy, as with consciousness, in that it can only be defined in terms of the forms being manifest.
For example, getting back to cosmology, one way light does redshift over distance is as multi spectrum packets, as the higher frequencies dissipate faster. Yet that would mean we are sampling a wave front, not detecting individual, single spectrum photons traveling billions of lightyears, so the quantification of light would be an artifact of its detection and measurement, not fundamental to the light itself. A loading, or threshold theory.
I could cover a fair number of other ways our current thinking is quite limited. Consider, for example, that democracy and republicanism originated in pantheistic cultures.

Logically a spiritual absolute would be the essence of sentience, from which life rises, not an ideal of wisdom and judgement, from which it fell. The light shining through the film, than the stories playing out on it.
Information processing is just a survival mechanism, like running, or generating toxins. Which should be all too evident, given the speed with which any rationality is cast aside, when it interferes with tribal affiliations, income streams, emotional outbursts, etc.
The problem for cosnciousness is not that it lacks agency, but that it is horrible at strategy.
The larger the crowd, the lower the common denominators, so running the herd overwhelms any nuanced thinking. You can't just stop and scratch your ear, when the herd is running.
For us little critters out here in the forest though, it's all about situational awareness.
