The contrast with a cyclical, reciprocal, feedback generated understanding of nature isn’t really against some vague notion of fear, but our Western, linear, goal oriented, quantized, atomized, individualized, monetized, belief system, where it’s all about where we are going and not what is actually happening.
We view time as the point of the present moving past to future, when it is change turning future to past.
Our religious assumption is of a spiritual absolute as some ideal of wisdom and judgement, from which we have fallen, rather then the essence of sentience from which we rise.
That good and bad are some cosmic conflict between the forces of righteousness and evil, when they are the basic biological binary of beneficial and detrimental. From which all the higher order emotional and social constructs and connections evolve, like respect, responsibility, love, honor, humility, etcetc.
So conflicts quickly become a race to the bottom, of us versus them, good versus bad, rather than each side holding to and being able to assume the other will hold to the standards of civilization on which our world stands.
Potentially using such conflicts as further opportunities to evolve and not always as a zero sum game.
That we treat money as a signal to extract from the noise of society and the economy, not as the contract and medium enabling society and the economy to function.
