The earth is a lot bigger than we are and whatever scars we are able to create, even if it’s nuclear war, or a major population and species crash, will heal. The point is that we are trashing our only home. People talk about colonizing space, but the fact is that not only are we highly evolved, but highly evolved to close to sea level, in fairly temperate climates, on this particular orb. We are not as adaptable as we think we are. That’s why it’s necessary to get beyond all the political stances and categories, where people point fingers at each other and really start looking in the mirror.
Where was humanity ten thousand years ago? What will it be, in another ten thousand years? That is the practical window of civilized human experience. For the planet, it’s an eye blink. We need more light and less heat.
