Is God the node, or the network? The synchronization, or the harmonization?
The issue is sentience, not intelligence. We can manufacture machines that process information, but that doesn't make them sentient. Non living matter processes information constantly. It's called "cause and effect."
The sentience bubbling up through this dynamic is the mystery. We are just a point where the feedback loops are fairly complex, but whether they break down is irrelevant. Life cycles between simplicity and complexity constantly. Chicken/egg/chicken/egg, etc.
In fact, sentience tends to have a love/hate relationship with complexity. It's approved when it's a tool but oppressive when it becomes a god.
Even gods were originally tools to explain; metaphors, ideals, insights. etc. Then they became tools of oppression. Ancient Israel was a monarchy and Rome adopted a monotheistic sect as state religion around the time the Empire was rising from the ashes of the Republic. The Big Guy Rules.
So accept that pain, frustration, ambiguity, chaos and all the other messiness is just part of the game.
Without the ups and downs, it's a flatline.
As Leonard Cohen put it, "The cracks are how the light gets in."
