The logical fallacy of monotheism is that a spiritual absolute would be the essence of sentience, from which we rise, not an ideal of wisdom and judgement, from which we fell. More the light shining through the film, than the images and stories on it.

Though no society could function by simply reveling in sentience. So we have this father figure lawgiver as the icon.

The problem is treating the ideal as absolute, because it assumes one’s cultural model to be universal, rather than unique. That the goal, defined by voices of authority, is more important than the means, the community.

Here is my effort to dig down into this relationship between life and culture;
