The logical flaw in both ancient and modern is that good and bad are not some cosmic conflict between righteousness and evil, but the basic biological binary of beneficial and detrimental. The 1/0 of sentience. An ideal good makes as much sense as the perfect yes.

We can no more have the good without the bad, than we can have up without down.

The price we pay to feel, is that much of it is pain.
