The origin of the Trinity was out of fertility rites. The young god , born in the spring, to the old sky god and the earth mother.

Though by the age of the Olympians, Zeus didn't give way to Dionysus, tradition prevailed over renewal. Providing fertile ground for the story of Jesus. The Revolution against the Old Guard.

Ancient Israel was a monarchy. The Big Guy Rules. Like the religion.

Democracy and republicanism originated in pantheistic cultures.

Christianity was an amalgam. Rome adopted it for the monotheism, as the Empire was rising from the ashes of the Republic. The Big Guy Rules.

The origins of the Trinity shrouded by the Holy Ghost, as the Catholic Church didn't do renewal, or women.

Monotheism served as the eschatological basis for the next 1500+ years of monarchy.

When the West went back to democracy and republicanism, it required separation of church and state, culture and civics.

The logical flaw in monotheism is that ideals are not absolutes. Truth, beauty, platonic forms are ideals. The creed, codes, heroes, narratives at the core of every society are ideals. Essentially their gravitational center. Without which they would break apart. Tower of Babel.

The universal, on the other hand, is the elemental and essential. So a spiritual absolute would be the essence of sentience, from which life rises, not an ideal of wisdom and judgement, from which it fell. The light shining through the film, than the narratives played out on it.

The consequence of making an Almighty God the moral policeman, was that as fear of God died, there wasn't much of an organic moral code to replace it, so the Will to Power, might is right, rose to fill the void. Such as Nazism as the rawest form of tribalism.

Morality is not an absolute, because if it was, it could not be transgressed, like a temperature below absolute zero. Morality is an ideal. The codes and creeds enabling a functional society, like the Ten Commandments, or the US Constitution.

So it's not that there is no logic to religions, as cultural core, but that they have been constantly subjected to political needs. Just as they rose from social needs.

The tech gods are not going to save us.
