The problem with seeing, is the energy is going past to future, expanding, while the information goes future to past, consolidating. So we "see" definition, not what is generating it.

Like our vision is a sequence of static perceptions, like a movie camera taking a series of stills, while the light manifesting them would be a whiteout, if we tried to take it all in.

Our gut processes the energy and our head processes the information, so instinct is that fore sense. Like feeling the wave building, before it crests and we see its amplitude. Then it recedes, into the past.
