The reason we are stuck in the present is because time is not really the point of the present, metaphysically moving from past to future, but change turning future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns.

There is no dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present. Cause becomes effect.

Time is an effect and measure of energy. Like temperature, pressure, color, sound. Frequencies and amplitudes. Time is frequency, events are amplitude.

So reality is not so much the linear passage of time, as it is thermodynamic feedback loops.

Our relationships with the people around us are feedback loops, markets are feedback loops.

The problem is that since we are linear and goal oriented, we assume positive feedback loops go on forever and don't sense when they are switching over to negative feedback loops. More is always better.

So rather than ride the waves up and down, we march off the highest cliffs possible.
