The signals our minds pick out of the noise are what resonates and synchronizes with our prior knowledge. Basically being on the same "wavelength."
This creates a feedback loop, as it both supports our view of the world and further validates what we are in synch with.
The effect is centripetal, coalescing as more structure, like rings of a tree.
The larger reality is that is how groups of people, whether politics or religion, come together.
There has to be some locus of structure, some eye of the storm, grain of sand at the center of the pearl, totem at the center of the village, creed, icon, idol, ideal that gives this process a center of gravity.
In fact, it basically is gravity. (1)
Galaxies are energy radiating out, as structure coalesces in.
That which doesn't fit, is noise, breaks down and is radiated back out.
Which is then smeared out across the space, possibly to find a place somewhere else.
One man's trash is another man's treasure.
One man's noise is another man's signal.
One man's conspiracy theory, is another man's explanation.
There is no ultimate model, map, frame, box.
An objective point of view is an oxymoron.
No omniscient omniscience. The universal is the elemental, not the ideal. The essence from which we rise, not an ideal from which we fell.
The map is not the territory, because if it included all the information, the signal would be lost back in the noise. Whiteout.
Definition limits and limits define.
So keep a variety of maps and models as tools in the tool box. Competition and cooperation.
The real crazies are not the ones arguing with themselves, but the ones that never argue with themselves.
When the feedback loops don't have any circuit breakers, it all goes spiraling into that black hole in the center, but if there is no locus to hold things together, it all gets scattered to the winds. Tower of Babel.
Our little blue dot is right in the middle.
1) There would be no need for Dark Matter if the properties of mass were an intermediate effect of this dynamic, than gravity a property of what our tactile senses focus on. Anything actually falling into a black hole is shot out the poles as quasars, which are like giant lasers and lasers are synchronized light waves.
