The term "woke" does bring to mind, "born again." It functions similarly, that one's cultural tribe is "exceptional."

The underlaying fallacy is that good and bad are not some cosmic conflict between the forces of righteousness and evil, but the basic biological binary of beneficial and detrimental. The 1/0 of sentience. Even bacteria get that.

All the higher order emotional, social, cultural constructs, such as love, honor, trust respect, responsibility, etc, are emergent, as descriptive of complex social relations.

When good is assumed to be aspirational, rather than elemental, conflicts do become a race to the bottom, as all nuance and subjectivity becomes suspect.

Trying to understand how society evolved, in terms of one's own ideals and preferences, is like thinking playing video games will teach you computer programming.

Given there is no more an absolute good, than there is an absolute yes, or absolute on, relative to all else being bad, no, off, the effect is a spiral into mindless fanaticism, where the ability to shout down any contrary thought is more effective than any rational thought process.

Yet that does go to the entire premise of our goal oriented idealist monism, where the pot of gold at the end of the narrative arc is more important than the means of getting there.

The fact is that a spiritual absolute would be the essence of sentience, from which we rise, not an ideal of wisdom and judgement, from which we fell. The fact we are aware, than the details of which we are aware.

We are all woke, as children. Yet life is a process of discovering that the more we know, the more we know we don't know. The taller we get, the more the horizons expand outward.
