Spiritual is necessarily personal, while religion is cultural. Be careful the culture doesn't have too many large clubs laying about, or the amoral will find ways to control them.

Keep in mind the essence of Christianity is the Golden Rule;

"Do unto others, what you would have them do unto you."

That's the split between the Old and New Testaments.

Obviously those of the Old Testament are still back in the Bronze Age tribalism. It's past its sell by date.
