Then again, as these mobile organisms, we have a sequential process of perception, in order to navigate, then share stories and build civilizations around the collected knowledge, so we assume time is the point of the present, moving past to future, while the evident reality is that change turns future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns.
Even physics codifies the narrative projection by treating time as measures of duration, but duration is this physical state, as the events come and go, future to past.
There is no literal dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, in order to inform and drive it. Causality and conservation of energy.
The present is not so much a dimensionless point between past and future, as it is the configuration of this “energy.” So it is the dynamic of change which creates the effect of time, as well as temperature, pressure, color, etc. Ideal gas laws correlate volume with temperature and pressure, but we don’t call them the 5th and 6th dimensions of space, because they are only foundational to our emotions, bodily functions and environment, not the sequence of thought.
Frequencies and amplitudes.
Different clocks can run at different rates simply because they are separate actions. It is the social need to have everyone following the same narrative, playing by the same rules, using the same measures, that we would think there is a universal time, but there is rabbit time, turtle time, tree time, etc.
When everyone is playing the same game, for the same goals, it becomes a race and everyone is on rabbit time, yet the turtle is still plodding along, long after the rabbit has died.
So the process goes past to future, while the patterns generated go future to past.
As consciousness goes past to future, while thoughts go future to past.
As lives go birth to death, while the process of life goes onto the next generation, shedding the old.
