There is certainly feedback between the top down and the bottom up, but the bigger they come, the harder they fall. They really are cooking their own golden goose.

Though as the saying goes, the markets can remain irrational for longer than you can remain solvent.

I think though, what you might consider is stepping back further and looking at some of the cultural forces driving this tide. Humanity has been going forth and multiplying for hundreds of thousands of years and we really are reaching the edge of the petri dish.

We need to move on from this linear, goal oriented paradigm, that has us reaching for the money and ignoring the society making it relevant, to a more cyclical, circular, feedback driven understanding of the world. It is round, not flat.

The turtle is still plodding along, long after the rabbit has died.

The bigger the picture you understand, the more options there are for focusing your attention and efforts. As well as tying together the parts you do already understand. There are lots more signals hiding in the noise.
