There seem to be two different concepts. Is it an essence, or an ideal?
It would seem the premise of a god is as an ideal, but if it is something universal, wouldn't that be an essence?
We rise from an essence, while we have fallen from an ideal. Or at least, aspirational.
Logically a spiritual absolute would be the essence of sentience, not an ideal of wisdom and judgement.
Presumably we can't just revel in sentience, though most children see no problem with that. We the adults know there is some higher purpose, but we just haven't quite figured it out.
The anarchy of desire, versus the tyranny of judgement. Transcendence and order.
Can't seem to have one, without the other.
Even galaxies are energy radiating out, as structure coalesces in.
