They prefer civil war, over revolution. Better to rule over a ruined world, than fall out of power.
The function of the mind is not to decide, but to imagine, so that further instinctive actions and reactions are better informed.
Basically to dream of all the possibilities. Though in our waking state, this image creation process has to be constantly reset by new information coming in. Such as when you drive down the road and your mind keeps peripherally flashing images of what might have happened if...turn missed, other car hadn't swerved, etc.
Yet when we are asleep, the mind doesn't have to reset, but constantly creates one image out of the previous and our minds spiral along a kaladioscope of dreams.
Those in positions of power can push back at that outside world and have their own images rule it. Then they surround themselves with like minded others and the collective mind games spiral off into some version and vision of reality that is very far down some rabbit hole.
Eventually their vision grows so large, it is forced to come to terms with the larger reality.
The consequences seem monumental to us little people, but to nature and the planet, in a few tens of millions of years, the last ten thousand years and the next ten thousand years will be several inches of coal, whatever happens.
The bull is power. The matador is art.
People are linear and goal oriented, while nature is cyclical and feedback driven.
