This does miss a large part of the picture.

Consider that in Special Relativity, duration and distance are dilated in a moving frame, to the point that at the speed of light, both are zero.

Yet what this implies, is that the frame with the fastest clock and longest ruler is closest to the equilibrium of the vacuum. The unmoving void of absolute zero.

So there is the infinite and the absolute.

What fills this void is a dynamic referred to as energy and the patterns it generates.

We are mobile organisms, so our experience is a sequence of perceptions, in order to navigate. The effect of which is this linear progression of time, as the point of the present, moving past to future. Which physics codifies as measures of duration.

The reality is that change turns future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns. Duration is the present, as the events come and go.

There is no literal dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, to inform and drive it. Causality and conservation of energy. Cause becomes effect.

Energy is "conserved," because it is the present. It creates time, as well as temperature, pressure, color and sound. Time is frequency, events are amplitude.

So as process and present, energy goes past to future, while the patterns generated go future to past.

Energy drives the wave, as the fluctuations rise and fall.

Consciousness also goes past to future, while the perceptions, emotions and thoughts giving it form go future to past. Though it is the digestive, respiratory and circulatory systems processing the energy, feeding the flame, while the central nervous system sorts the information. Signals from the noise.

Thus the intellectual distinction between order and chaos, rather than energy and form.

These forms/waves, tend to either synchronize, which is centripetal, or harmonize, which is centrifugal.

So the reality is nodes and networks, organisms and ecosystems. Even physics divides it between particles and fields. As tactile and intellectually focused creatures, attention tends to solidify on the apparent objects of particles. Though if we think about it, one of the presumed properties of mass is gravity, which is centripetal, so it might be useful to consider if the relationship as the opposite, that the centripetal process of gravitation is what gives rise to the accumulation of mass.

Which is a tangent from the psychological issues of society and its religious beliefs and models, that tend to gravitate toward some unifying totem, as opposed to harmonizing with the larger reality.

As such, using the dichotomy of the yin and yang as a cultural magnet might be effective in cracking open the current ruling quest for a monolithic belief system and political/economic expression, aka, financial globalism, orignially formulated as monotheism.

Keeping in mind that democracy and republicanism originated in pantheistic cultures, as that was how the Ancients formulated multiculturalism. The Romans adopted Christianity as the Empire solidified and remnants of the Republic were being shed.

Though retaining necessary vestiges of pantheism in the Trinity. Which is a much longer story.
