Time is worth exploring.
The problem with our view of time is that as mobile organisms, our biological sentience coalesces as a sequence of perceptions, in order to navigate. So our concept of time is as the point of the present, moving past to future.
The reality is that change turns future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns. Potential>actual>residual.
There is no literal dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, to inform and drive it. Causality and conservation of energy. Cause becomes effect.
Different clocks can run at different rates simply because they are separate actions. Think metabolism.
That culture is about synchronizing our behavior into one larger organism, using the same laws, motivations, measures, etc, it might seem there is some universal, Newtonian flow of time, but it's just rabbit time, turtle time, etc. Heck, flies process responses faster than we do.
Time is asymmetric, because it is a measures of action and action is inertial. The earth only turns one direction.
For some reason, the math whizzes think their relatively simple models underpin reality, rather than just map it. Epicycles were brilliant math, as a description of our view of the cosmos, but the crystalline spheres were lousy physics, as explanation.
Ideal gas laws correlate volume with temperature and pressure, but we don't refer to them as dimensions of space, even though they are as foundational to our emotions and bodily functions, as sequence is to thought.
Energy is "conserved," because it manifests the present, creating time, as well as temperature pressure, color and sound. Time is frequency, events are amplitude.
So energy, as present, goes past to future, while the patterns generated go future to past. Energy drives the wave, the fluctuations rise and fall.
Consciousness also goes past to future, while the perceptions, emotions and thoughts giving it form and structure go future to past. Though it's the digestive, respiratory and circulatory systems processing the energy, feeding the flame, while the central nervous system sorts the information, signals from the noise.
Consequently there is an intellectual habit of dividing reality into the known and unknown, aka, order and chaos. Rather than energy and form. Even though galaxies are energy radiating out, as structure coalesces in. Cosmic feedback loops.
Thermodynamics.
