“to live by the inner light of an idea.”
“it is only when the measurement is taken that the particle collapses, so to speak, from a wave state into a localized state. At that point it occupies a definite, identifiable, measurable place. Before the measurement is taken, the localized particle exists only in potential.”
Consider the relationship between light and this collapsed wave/particle.
Look at galaxies; Light radiates out, while mass coalesces in, much like those particles collapsing out of waves.
As biological organisms, we have a digestive, respiratory and circulatory system processing the energy(light) driving us on. While the central nervous system sorts and orders the information/form precipitating out, further coalescing and condensing it.
Now according to the first law of thermodynamics, energy is conserved. Logically this means it is always and only present, for if it was lost, it would have been left in the past, or if it increased, it would have arrived from the future.
So if energy is always and only present and being dynamic, it would have to be constantly creating and dissolving its configurations, which would seem to explain time.
As mobile organisms, we experience our reality as flashes of perception, in order to navigate, so we think of time as the point of the present, moving along, from past to future. Which Physics effectively codifies as measures of duration, between events.
Yet the logical reality is that change turns future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns. Potential, actual, residual.
Duration is this physical present, as events coalesce and dissolve. Future to past. The current geometric model of time assumes the events are more real than the present. That the present is subjective, like a point in space.
So there would only be this energy as the physical present and time is an effect of it, much like temperature, pressure, color, etc.
Ideal gas laws correlate volume with temperature and pressure, but they are only foundational to our emotions, bodily functions and environment, not the sequence of thought.
So there is no physical “dimension” of time, because the past is consumed by the present, in order to inform it. Aka, causality.
Therefore the energy, as process, goes past to future, while the patterns generated go future to past.
Consciousness goes past to future, while thoughts go future to past.
So consciousness functions somewhat like an energy, thus associated with our primal desires and impulses bubbling up through the heart and gut.
While our minds try refereeing these driving elements, giving them direction and definition. Motor and steering.
The anarchy of desire, versus the tyranny of judgement. The heart and the head.
Yet science seems more obsessed with the forms, as that is what the mind identifies with, since they are definition and clarity.
Yet think of the wave; Do frequency and amplitude create and drive it, or merely define it?
Thoughts are like a wave cresting, reaching its full form, while emotions sense the wave starting to build, or feel it leaving.
The real dichotomy isn’t between order and chaos, but energy and form. That is why the wave is everywhere, but the particle is only what we measure.
Why we only exist somewhere between the absolute, where everything sums out, and the infinite, where everything fades out.
